Edited by: Tarh Assiliof on 06/12/2007 11:27:00 I've just try mistake theory.
del boot.ini don't work (file not found) del c:\boot.ini don't work (file not found) del /A:H c:\boot.ini don't work (acces refused) del /F /AH c:\boot.ini finally work !
So why putting "/F /AH" to delete a little boot.ini in eve directory ?
Is it really a mistake ?
You have been boot scrambled !

You would assume that this would hold true, but to install software into the "Program Files" directory you need admin permissions and a process that has this can delete the file with no warnings.
You see that was our thinking when it was reported ... "Can't be." Windows does not allow you to delete that file ... but it does.
I have administration right on my computer.

the restore point was 4h before upgrading to premium content. therefore it has to be just right, but there still is no boot.ini... that means, i didnt have any before the upgrade... should i really set up a boot.ini manually now, to be sure??
please? yes or no? btw: before i restored the system, i made a boot.ini myself, like on the ms-support website. after restoring the sys, it was gone...
If you can boot your computer it's not a problem. I personnally don't have boot.ini on some of my computers. I don't know why, but it never get created when I install windows.

I work with a group of guys that do that kind of stuff all the time. And its funny. But for the love of all that is good and holy we remember to remove it before pushing to production!
I think it the question to ask.
